vba scripting is really dumb. but i can see its utility for small
specific tasks. i am empolying it in my job currently and although
i abhor everything about the editing process i have to say i have
sped up my work pace quite a bit.
i guess vb is a pariah mostly because stupid people start using it for
inappropriate tasks, or because people use it highly inefficiently for
appropriate taks.
this would be analogous to using an ironing board for catching surf in hawaii,
or trying to type a paper on a typewriter but holding a pen in both hands
and punching the keys with your pen.

Actually, it’s because it is a bad bad language with weak syntax and poor typing. Microsoft’s intent was for programming to be “just like writing English”. They also wanted Windows to “just work”, so it is not exactly the first time they fell down.
